Spain says yes to iGaming
The Spanish Gaming Commission has finally delivered on its promise to hand out gaming licenses, which were granted on June 5th. Although the exact nature of the gambling companies awarded Spanish licenses is not known, several companies names have been touted across the internet, claiming that they are amongst the lucky few to pick one up.
888, Bwin, Ladbrokes, PokerStars and 888 are amongst some of the larger companies rumoured to have been given the exclusive “.es” domain gambling license, whilst several smaller Spanish gambling companies have been included if reports are to believed. These include Cirsa, Codere and Egasa. Plenty more companies are expected to be awarded licenses in the coming months, but the Spanish Gaming Commission is remaining very tight lipped about the situation at the moment.
Despite the initial excitement about the announcement, Spanish bingo and casino players are still upset after being told that they are being denied permission to transfer their V.I.P. statuses and accounts to the new “.es” websites.
